I'm feeling pressed to add more content to my site.  People are looking, and I have plenty more art to show!  Unfortunately, I'm having some tripod woes.  Two of the legs work on good days, and only one works on bad days (this is a bad day).  At this point I'm referring to it as a "tripod" purely out of pity for the old thing.  

Anyway, enough excuses!  Here are a couple of new pieces:

I just realized that the "Jøtul" text on the stove is missing the little slashy thing through the "o".  My mantra these days is, "Good enough for now!"  I can always fix the details later.

Yes, I do keep eggs on my radiator.  It seems to amuse visitors for whatever reason.  They are actually just blown egg shells.  I also keep a nice collection of broken eggshells on the floor behind the radiator, as it turns out.

I think I might have carpal-tunneled myself a bit rounding all of those corners with my hot-pink corner-rounder.

I built myself a little portfolio site: www.sofia-arnold.com.  If you know anything about website design, please be gentle!  This is the first site I've made and I did it all from scratch.  On the other hand, don't be too gentle!  Go ahead and tell me if something is strange.

I know I just posted a picture of my feet a few days ago, but I figured you were ready for some more. This time I'm wearing the shoes I bought second-hand from St. Vinny's yesterday.  I usually can't stand wearing shoes that have gradually morphed to the unique shape of someone else's feet, but these ones clearly haven't been worn more than a couple of times.

It's a shiny golden sausage.  Thanks, scanner, for picking up on that.  Well done.  I'll let you live for today.

The magenta ink was a little bit redder than I intended, but the final colorway is growing on me.   It was fun to print, too.  I hope to do more prints using this technique.  

I'm thinking of doing this in an additional colorway, on pure white paper.  Any thoughts on whether I should do metallic silver sausages, or keep them gold?  Should I ditch the metallics all together?  I feel like I just need to suppress my magpie tendencies long enough to realize how cheesy they are, but until then, I remain impressed by all things shiny.

Today I spent hours and hours hand-drawing these over what I'm calling my "light table" (really just a window pane propped precariously on top of my bedside lamp):

And then I scanned them and turned them into this:

It will all become a silkscreen print soon enough.  

A large part of this was meant as a technical exercise, to expand my skill set a little.  The goal is for me to rely on the computer for less and less of the process in screen printing.  Plus, I think I'm just a sucker for painful, tedious processes.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out.
