It's an ongoing challenge to show people what my paintings really look like via the internet, especially when a 2'x2' painting is reduced to fit on a laptop screen. Things become muddled. It was a little easier when I was focusing on printmaking and surface design. I've been making an effort to add more details from the paintings I post on my website. (Click the following images for an up-closier version.)
Little Sister Little Brother (sold!)
Recently I set up a public Facebook page for my art, because quite frankly, I like Facebook and it's easy to update. Another reason is that recently I've had quite a few friend requests on my personal profile from people who know my art but don't know me personally. This is fine and I don't discourage it, but I feel like these people are probably disappointed because I don't really put art updates on my personal page (but I do post things about my laundry and how many hot dogs I've eaten and other such garbage). If you have a Facebook account and you want to flaunt your good taste in art to your unenlightened friends, become a fan!
Loved your show at Tory Folliard--it was almost too exciting a night for a stay-at-home mom
